Beyond Masjid al-Nabawi, Madinah is home to many ancient mosques with profound historical significance. Here is a guide to the must-visit mosques in the City of the Prophet.

Madinah is a city layered with 1,400 years of Islamic history. Every mosque tells a story of faith, sacrifice, and divine guidance. **1. Masjid Quba** The first mosque in Islam, built by the Prophet (SAW) on his arrival from Makkah. Praying two rakats here equals the reward of Umrah. Distance: 5 km from Masjid al-Nabawi. **2. Masjid al-Qiblatain (Mosque of Two Qiblas)** Where the Qibla was changed from Jerusalem to Makkah during prayer in 2 AH. During a Dhuhr prayer, the revelation came and the Prophet (SAW) turned mid-prayer toward Makkah. The mosque has two mihrabs (prayer niches) to this day. **3. Masjid al-Jumu'ah** Where the Prophet (SAW) led the first Friday (Jumu'ah) prayer after his arrival in Madinah. **4. Masjid al-Ghamama** Located near Masjid al-Nabawi, where the Prophet (SAW) performed Eid prayers. **5. Masjid Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (RA)** Near Masjid al-Ghamama, where Abu Bakr (RA) led Eid prayers. **6. Masjid al-Fath (Mosque of the Opening)** Built on the hill where the Prophet (SAW) made dua for three days during the Battle of Khandaq (Trench), and received the revelation of the 'Opening' (Fath). **7. Masjid Salman al-Farsi (RA)** Near the site where Salman al-Farsi (RA) suggested digging the trench. **Visiting Tips** - Most ziyarat tour packages from your hotel include these mosques - Visit in the morning or late afternoon to avoid extreme heat - Many of these mosques are open for prayer — pray two rakats in each
