The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set insurance mandatory for foreign pilgrims regarding lesser pilgrimage. This update will only apply to arrivals from abroad as confirmed by GULF NEWS. According to Ministry, insurance document holders will get benefits up to SR 100,000. Umrah insurance policy is one of the mandatory documents for foreigners entering Saudi Arabia for Umrah, and it will be included in the visa fee. This policy covers a total of 4 facilities that are below:

  1. Emergency cases of COVID-19
  2. Emergency health cases
  3. General accidents and deaths
  4. Cancellation or delay of departing flights

How does the Saudi ministry help foreigners in case of lost or delayed luggage?

G.A.C.A. The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia has imposed financial compensation on airlines in case of delay or loss or damage to passengers’ baggage. The airline has to respond to the passenger within 30 days from the date of receipt of the compensation claim.

On Wednesday, October 19, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that nearly two million visas have been issued to Umrah aspirants from 176 countries around the world since the beginning of the month of Muharram, 1444 Hijri.
